Meet the board

PRESIDENT

STEPHANIE BRENTON

Hello! I am honored to be serving as your PTO President! I am the proud parent of 3 Nixa Eagles: a 5th grader, a 3rd grader, and one little PreK Eagle! My husband Greg is my comedic relief, my 24/7 tech support, and my rock. For work, I have been a Registered Dental Hygienist for 14 years, but since having children, I've only worked part-time. This allows me time to stay involved in the wonderful JTSD community.
I can’t wait to see what STEAMazing things we accomplish together this year!

My husband, Billy, and I have two kids that attend JTSD - a third grader and a kindergartener. This is my second year serving on the JTSD PTO Executive Board. I am excited to partner with parents and teachers to provide more fun educational enrichment opportunities for JTSD students!

ASHLEY ORTIZ

My husband, Jay, and I are proud Nixa Eagles and parents to a 4th grader at JTSD. Our family has been active in the Nixa community for six years, owning Eagle Pride Automotive, participating in the Nixa Chamber of Commerce, and volunteering for several local initiatives. I also serve on the Care to Learn – Nixa board. In addition to our business, I have spent nearly 14 years with Mercy. I’m excited to see the amazing things we accomplish this year!

SECRETARY

ANDREA SHRENI

Hello JTSD Families! I am thrilled to serve as Secretary on the PTO Board! My husband is a proud alum from the East Elementary days, and both of our children attend here — so this community truly feels like home. I bring a background in engineering and education administration, two very different worlds that have shaped how I think and collaborate. I look forward to contributing a strategic perspective to support our kids and school. And I love all things aviation, including Space which is our theme this year! So happy to be here!

SARA FENDER

Hi! I'm excited and honored to be able to serve on the Board of Directors at what I think is the best elementary school ever! My Mom went to elementary school here when John Thomas was the principal, so it's a fun full circle moment to have had 2 daughters be able to attend here. I look forward to helping in any way I can to continue to make JTSD the amazing place it is for all our kids!

HEATH SILVEY

My wife, Jessica, and I have been an active part of the Nixa community for 20 years. I work for Aon as an insurance broker, helping large businesses manage their total cost of risk. I am also on the Nixa Care to Learn Board. Jessica owns and operates Plumb Lily Boutique and volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters. Our four children will all attend JTSD for Kindergarten through sixth grade.

SARA BROGDON

My husband, Dan, and I have lived in Nixa for 13 years. We're the proud parents of 1 incoming 4th grader, 2 rescue dogs, 1 ungrateful cat, and a sweet ball python named Linguine. I'm a SAHM and love starting my day in car line, seeing all the little faces. Your kids are amazing and I'm so grateful to be part of our JTSD community. I'm excited to be the 4th grade director this year and help our kiddos grow ❤️

KATE ALEXANDER

I’m a proud parent of two Nixa students, a 7th grader and a 3rd grader. My husband, Jared, works for Care to Learn, so supporting local students and families is something that’s important to both of us. I’ve worked in Finance at Jack Henry for 11 years, focusing on data analysis, and I enjoy balancing that analytical work with opportunities to connect with families and support JTSD in creative ways. JTSD is a very special school, and I truly believe in the difference a supportive community makes.

SARA JORDAN

Hi! My name is Sara Jordan and I’m honored to be serving as the Second Grade Director this year on the JTSD PTO Board. My husband, O’Neal and I, have a second grader and kindergartener at JTSD. I work at Cox Health as the Patient Experience Manager for the system. This is my first year having the privilege to serve on the board and I’m excited to be a part of making JTSD even better!

LISA SEARLES

My daughter attended Nixa schools, and wanted my grandson also to attend because she felt that the Nixa school district was the best. We moved down to Missouri from Seward, NE in 1992. We moved back to Nixa, MO around three years ago. We have our 4 cats plus my moms 1 cat. As you can tell, we are cat people. We also have a Ball Python named Ziggy, she is around 5 years old. I like to read and do a variety of crafts. I currently still work, but I love being involved with my grandson's school (JTSD) as much as possible.

DIRECTOR (KINDERGARTEN)

MARKKEETA WOMACK

Hola!! I’m grateful and eager to be part of the PTO board. My husband and I currently have a kindergartener at JTSD, and our family already has strong ties to the district, as our daughter’s older cousins also attended JTSD. I spent 7 years in law enforcement and currently serve in the Army National Guard for over 14 years as a Human Resource Specialist and CBRN Specialist. Service, community, and supporting families have always been important to me, and I’m excited to bring that passion to the PTO while helping create meaningful experiences for our students, staff, and families.
