Join us for our next general meeting: Tuesday, March 24 | 6:00pm | JTSD Cafeteria!
JTSD is supported by several strategy teams that work together to bring our school initiatives to life. From Chickens and Gardens to Portrait of an Eagle and beyond, these teams meet regularly to help make JTSD the special place it is for our students and staff.
This week, we’re excited to highlight our Chicken Strategy Team, led by teacher Ms. Paige Garrett and supported by PTO Board Member Sara Fender, and the care, commitment, and learning opportunities they bring to our school community. PTO families have been an integral part of this team, committing their time to help with egg collecting, chicken care, and bedding clean-outs. Their support has been invaluable in problem-solving and ensuring our chickens are well cared for.
Most recently, when a hawk entered the chicken yard, the Chicken Strategic Action Team responded creatively by launching a school-wide scarecrow contest to help deter the hawk and keep our chickens safe. This collaboration is a wonderful example of how our JTSD community comes together to support learning, responsibility, and care for our shared spaces. It's so important for our kids!
