DONATION DRIVE GOAL MET!! --- BOOK FAIR BEGINS MONDAY OCTOBER 20
The JTSD PTO is led by a 7-member Executive Board responsible for setting strategic direction and organization oversight as a whole. The Board ensures alignment with the school’s priorities and provides governance, continuity, and coordination across all PTO activities.
Supporting this structure are 8 Committees, each established to directly serve one of the school’s core initiatives. The goal of this structure is to promote collaboration, consistent communication, and amplify efforts across the entire school and organization. BOOK FAIR

The Book Fair Committee helps our librarian plan and run the school’s Fall and Spring Book Fairs. Duties shall include: event planning, volunteer management, setting up/decorating, assisting during shopping times and checkout, and packing up after the event. Volunteers may also help promote the fair and coordinate family nights or other promotional events.

CARLINE
The Carline Committee helps keep the carline - for both dropoff and dismissal - running smoothly and safely by assisting students as they get in and out of vehicles each day. Volunteers provide a friendly, helping hand and ensure a safe and efficient carline experience for everyone. Warm smiles required; coffee and umbrellas recommended!

CELEBRATIONS
The Celebrations Committee plans and leads fun events outside of school hours, such as holiday parties, family nights, and seasonal celebrations. Volunteers help with planning, organizing, decorating, coordinating activities, hosting, and making each event memorable for students and families.

CHICKENS
CHICKENS
The Chickens Committee helps care for our school’s beloved flock by assisting with coop maintenance, feeding, and grounds care. They also support the process of distributing unhatched eggs for students to hatch at school, helping make this unique learning experience possible. A few volunteer days are needed over the summer as well to keep the chickens healthy and happy while school is out.

FARMERS MARKET
FARMERS MARKET
The Farmers Market Committee helps run our student-led farmers market, where plants, seeds, crafts, and school merchandise are created by students and sold to the public. Volunteers assist with promoting market days, arranging the greenhouse and grounds for sales, and setting up and managing checkout tables. It’s a fun and rewarding way to celebrate student creativity and connect with the school community.

GARDENS
The Gardens Committee supports our school’s hands-on gardening program by helping maintain raised beds, garden plots, our large greenhouse, and hydroponic systems. Volunteers assist with planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting, as well as helping prepare seedlings for our student-run farmers market. It’s a great way to get involved while helping students learn about plant life, sustainability, and healthy eating.

PORTRAIT OF AN EAGLE
The Portrait of an Eagle Committee hosts the 5 Portrait of an Eagle donut/coffee breakfasts which celebrate students who are displaying each of the five characteristics highlighted by the district’s Portrait of an Eagle initiative. Responsibilities include assisting with photo backdrop design and creation, ordering/picking up food and drinks, setting up food and decor, serving and hosting, and cleaning up after events.

The Room Parents Committee is made up of dedicated volunteers who support teachers with daily classroom needs, special projects, and classroom celebrations. Room parents are a vital link between the PTO, teachers, and families, helping make every school day run a little more smoothly.
