The JTSD PTO is led by an 11-member Board of Directors responsible for setting strategic direction and organization oversight as a whole. The Board ensures alignment with the school’s priorities and provides governance, continuity, and coordination across all PTO activities.
Supporting this structure are 5 Committees, each established to directly serve one of the school’s core initiatives. The goal of this structure is to promote collaboration, consistent communication, and amplify efforts across the entire school and organization. EVENTS
EVENTS
The Events Committee plans and leads fun events outside of school hours, such as holiday parties, family nights, and seasonal celebrations. Volunteers help with planning, organizing, decorating, coordinating activities, hosting, and making each event memorable for students and families.

CHICKENS
CHICKENS
The Chickens Committee helps care for our school’s beloved flock by assisting with coop maintenance, feeding, and grounds care. They also support the process of distributing unhatched eggs for students to hatch at school, helping make this unique learning experience possible. A few volunteer days are needed over the summer as well to keep the chickens healthy and happy while school is out.

GOING GREEN
GOING GREEN
The Going Green Committee supports our school’s hands-on gardening program by helping maintain raised beds, garden plots, our large greenhouse, and hydroponic systems. Volunteers assist with planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting, as well as helping prepare seedlings for our student-run farmers market. It’s a great way to get involved while helping students learn about plant life, sustainability, and healthy eating.

PORTRAIT OF AN EAGLE
PORTRAIT OF AN EAGLE
The Portrait of an Eagle Committee hosts the 5 Portrait of an Eagle donut/coffee breakfasts which celebrate students who are displaying each of the five characteristics highlighted by the district’s Portrait of an Eagle initiative. Responsibilities include assisting with photo backdrop design and creation, ordering/picking up food and drinks, setting up food and decor, serving and hosting, and cleaning up after events.
