a donation and a sponsorship?
A DONATION is a gift with no expectation of return. The giver is supporting your cause because they believe in it.
Example: “I’m giving $100 to help the PTO buy new playground equipment.”
A SPONSORSHIP is a transaction with something in return. The sponsor supports your cause but also receives recognition, marketing exposure, or benefits.
Example: “I’ll give $500 to the Fall Festival if my business logo is on the banners and flyers.”
